what transmissions will fit in my car

so first gear in the transmission in my 2000 maxima 5spd is all but gone, and i was wondering what transmissions will fit into my car. i am definitely staying with manual. after searching, i've discovered that a 5.5 gen tranny will fit with new mounts, but is that all i'd need to go from 5 to 6 gears? also, i was unsure whether or not a 4th gen tranny would fit as well.

I'm looking for the least amount of modification possible. after some research, i like the idea of hlsd from a 6th gen and i also like the idea of a 6th gear, but i don't know for sure if this is probable.

thanks for any and all help

i dont know what info is really necessary, but there are 165k miles on the car, tranny was rebuilt around 100k if anything else is necessary, ill be around all night lol so im hoping to get my research done

from what i have read on here, yeah you can use a 4th gen tranny and if you really wanna be cool, get a 4th gen LSD tranny , you just need to get a different pass. side axle ( due to the LSD lump on that side ) ..

and the sensors are in the same locations
