AE's are somewhat "Rare" in Canada and in that blue (Royal blue?) color I think they are a great example of the Maxima. As sooner mentioned they never came with the aero kit here which is a shame because I think its much better than the stillen stuff. I bought a set of AE wheels from a guy in the GTA and he had the factory aero kit installed at the dealer, he would have got pounded hard on that one.

When I went to find another Maxima I lucked out and got what I consider to be the "Ultimate" Maxima in my terms: 2003 6spd HLSD Polished Titanium, every option except navigation.

I am glad I got exactly what I wanted and now I am modding appropriately.

Funny to me that you would say that. I've seen 2 in just the last week, and before that I've never, ever seen another 5th gen with a front or rear lip, OEM or otherwise. Maybe I don't get out of the house much.

The AE ground effect skirts are simply gorgeous. I'm looking forward to seeing a few up close at Maxus.

I wish Nissan had continued the option into the 5.5 gens, because the Stillen lip is a fail in my eyes. Too bulbous looking. Then again, like I just said, I need to see a few close up to establish a solid opinion.

I had to consult this post again because just today, for the first time ever, in CANADA, I saw an AE with the lip kit. (Our models never had it from the factory) It must have been an American car, or someone installed it after the fact.

I love the look of it. I agree totally with you Rochester, I wish they'd offered it on the '02. If mine didnt come with it, I'd have it on there by now. I love how it looks.

I do see a lot of AE's up here (just pulled parts off one in the wreckers) but never any with factory skirts.

I think that in terms of pure looks AE's are the best, but total package the 5.5 really wins. I bought mine simply because it fell into my lap and was a decent deal.

Actually, tcaughey's post about the ID plate was kind of interesting, miscellaneous info.
Mine has those options, but it's even rarer still. Mine came with the oil burning package as well as the 3rd gear grind feature. How many of THOSE has anyone seen 'eh?

So its a GLE? strange because mine has almost no options, just keyless entry, the nonbose CD player, cloth seats, no sunroof, basic HVAC, not even premium wheels lol

Yeah, only the SE came with body-colored handles.

Odd thing to set apart by Nissan, IMO. Chrome handles are a visual fail on any car.

Definately looks like a 2000 GXE, No fogs, cloth interior, wheel covers. On the plus side it looks to be in excellent condition.

I agree on the Stillen kit not flowing with the car as well as the AE kit does.
Being the the front bumper is different on the 5.5 I wonder if the AE kit can be made to fit a 5.5?
Its either that or have something custom made....Cripes, This modding stuff IS addictive.

Sooner and chester you both are painting an uncomfortable picture lls.... I disagree with the stillen thing, now I do agree that the AE looks a tad better but the stillen lip definately flows well with the 5.5... maybe its because so many ppl have it

Yeah, it has been an odd couple of days with Sooner.

On the Stillen Lip, I think you nailed it: familiarity breeds desire from the lemmings. Because from pictures alone, the lines just don't work, IMO. However, as I've said before, my opinion may evolve after seeing all kinds of 5th gens at Maxus.

Sooner, I know this has probably been asked a million times toward you, buuutt man, you seemed to black-out your chrome window trim extremely well. What did you use exactly? Did you use that black-out tape that you can get from auto part stores? And, how did it look up close?
