Left side speaker cutoff issue.
Left side speaker cutoff issue.
I know this is a common issue in 5.5 gen maximas, having (usually) the left side of the speakers (front left, rear left and sometimes the subwoofer) cutoff. I faced that issue when I first got my 03 TE in '09. I looked and looked, and finally found the write up for the issue. It's located on http://www.shiftice.com/bose_cutout_fix.html First time I tried it, it took me about 4 hours to complete. It's somewhere between 40-50 screws, oil filled mounts, springs, posts and whole bunch of metal plates (casing). Since then, I've been doing this first for my friends and then commercially. From what I understand, Nissan dealership will charge you 450 and up for the job if you don't want to do it yourself. I will charge 75 bucks if the radio is delivered to me taken out, or a hundred if you're in the area and want to stop by my house so I could do the whole thing. I would suggest you doing it yourself if you like the anatomy of technology like me, but don't recommend it if you are not sure you can put it back together. Please email me if you are interested @ sergegol@yahoo.com I've also recently went through some issues with the subwoofer cutting off and then not working at all, so if you have any questions about that, hopefully I can help
I have been having the same issue, but it only happens when I'm listening to CDs and I also have a 03 TE lol
Where are you located and how long does it usually take you?
Would you back it up with a personal warranty or something?

I have an 03 SE w/ the a similar issue. Mine cuts out only w/ CD's and it's either side that does it and never my woofer. I fix it by bashing the dashboard w/ my fist - seriously! That always works. It's got to be something inside the head unit's CD player mechanisms because the radio never cuts out. IDK, I'll go aftermarket eventually anyway.
