Clutch Issue

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 six speed with about 80k miles. Today while driving the clutch suddenly had very little pressure, it was very easy to push it in. It didn't engage until I pushed it hard to the floor, and then I was able to drive it home. Any ideas what could be wrong? I tried searching but didn't have too much luck. Thanks for any help

Edit: I pushed in the clutch when the car was off and it was perfectly normal. And when I started it and pushed the clutch a few times it was fine also. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I assume its the orginal clutch... it could be on its way out... have you check the clutch reservoir fluid?

Thanks for your response. Yeah, its the original clutch. I just checked the fluid and its below the minimum mark by about a centimeter, but theres still some fluid in there. Would that cause this problem? If so, should i just top it off, or should I drain it and bleed it? Is there a procedure for that somewhere? Thanks again

Yes.

You can try, but there is likely a leak which caused the low fluid level. Check for fluid leaks from the master, slave and lines.

I had the same problem that happened to me and it was low fluid in the reservior. Check for leaks and bleed the system, did you regulary checked to see how much fluid was in the reservior? It may have been a very slow leak.
