burned out taillight light comes on dashboard - ive replaced bulb already

alright so a few months ago my burned out taillight light on the dashboard came on while I was driving. I freaked (because I didn't know what it meant) and had my girlfriend (who was in the passenger seat) check the manual to see what it meant. turns out its the braking light. So when I had a chance I went to a store and took out the bulb and sure enough it was burnt.

I bought 2 (because they didn't have individual ones) so I put one in and it worked great. The light went away and it was awesome. It's been now like 2-3 months and the same bulb burnt again. No biggie I had a replacement one already left over from my purchase last time. So I put it on and it seems that it works on low beam (at night when the headlights are on) no problems but it works intermittently bright red when you press the brake (sometimes it lights up bright red sometimes it doesn't) which I find really weird. I know the bulb is not burnt since it's pretty much brand new, but could the issue be the bulb - meaning I need to get another one or could it be the wiring or something.

Prolly loose contact. Make sure its firmly seated. Also do your subs fire back? Mine will unseat my bulb a lot

Try switching the bulb from the other side and see if it is the bulb itself or possibly the connector/wiring on that side.
