Do it right, get the megan. IF you have the money go for the cattman. Durim I have told you this too, that CM catback is garbage.

The 2.5" is only around $600 iirc. The 3" is $700+ which is still not alot for a quality exhaust when you compare is to other cars with a small aftermarket.

Durim, hush its probably the best catback you can get on a Maxima IMO.

After you cut out your spare tire well in your trunk, fill in the void, remove your EVAP, add some custom hanging brackets, then install this "dual" exhaust, let me know how you like it...

...I have not seen a CM dual exhaust in years. And then, under different ownership, I don't even know if they actually made that many. You had to buy their custom rear bumper cover as well.

This is probably as real as their 3" cat-back...

The 2.5" dual tip is supposedly coming out this week. Then again, it was supposed to be out in May so who knows. All I know is that I gave up waiting and went with something else two weeks ago.

Well, since Custom Maxima simply re-brands eBay stuff, just wait til it pops up on eBay for half the price...

Well the only reason im sketchy with the CM dual exhaust is because their products arent usually the highest of quality but the look of it would be pretty sick but not sure since ive never seen onee

I know this is random, but I figured I should point out that CM = Custom Maxima, not Cattman.

Just to avoid some confusion for the newbs...

Yeah, I see "CM" used interchangeably for both. Just to be clear: Custom Maxima = the worst, and Cattman = the best

Did you even read the description on the CM site? It says 4.5" N1 tip. Meaning it's a single exhaust and an N1 style can/tip. Dual exhaust on a car with a transverse mounted V6 makes no sense.

How exactly is that thing a true dual exhaust, anyway? That would mean no y-pipe, 2 cats... and seriously compromised clearance trying to hang all that custom crap.

Why is Custom Maxima still in business?

Why do people purchase things from them?

After talking with Brian Catts (in person, which was cool) about the old Frankencar exhaust, while looking at the old Frankencar exhaust on a car... his opinion was that the muffler was way too restrictive (quiet) and actually negated the gains from the 2.5" pipes.

But everyone in that discussion agreed on one point: the Frankencar muffler and tips were gorgeous. Very, very attractive piece indeed.

While there is a little bit of Maxima mystique owning rare Frankencar parts, there's also the widely held opinion that the guys running Frankencar were real jerks.

As has been stated before go with what represents the best value.
Cattman stuff seems to be created with the utmost quality and performance in mind. In my line of work that means a higher cost, so it is natural that Cattman stuff is more expensive.

How long do you plan on keeping the car? How serious are you about getting the most power you can from it?

Custom Maxima seems to not even be on the radar....all I can say is good luck if you decide too go that route.

EBay doesn't make exhausts.

Their supplier is MimoUsa.

Our cars?

By that, I'm sure Sooner means all Nissan products. Yeah, that must be it.

puppetmaster owns one and he's a cool guy, most chill moderator IMO.... but i wasnt in the 5th gen game while frankencar was around, and to be honest i like the cattman tips way more, and thats not being biased...

haha you think that raspy sound is because of the exhaust or headers ? because when i put on the headers it made that sound.. its sounds sick when you floor it
