Debadged or ...

I just got my car back from my Dad's shop (I was rear ended). I got some 01 SE tails and the replica AE rear lip.

As of now, my trunk looks like this:

I am debating on getting one of these:

What do you guys think? Stay de-badged or go with the 3.5 SE emblem?

I would put it where the original SE emblem was.

I don't think the 3.5 SE emblem would be ricey or anything considering I actually have that engine.

Without chrome badges, paint the keyhole black.

There's no cut-away for your exhaust tip with those AE skirts. Did you have to lower the exhaust?

Agreed. "SE" is fine, all by itself.

Brag about displacement if it's something special and unique. Otherwise, it's a 3.5 liter engine... just like every Maxima manufactured since 2002.

3.5SE is needed for the Altima that has two engine sizes...not the case with the maxima...so IMO it would look bad

i feel that rebadging should be unique and different but makes sense

wife's car - badging from "JDM" mazda6
mine - smaller flush nissan emblem from 96 pathfinder and "A33"

Just have the SE on mine, removed the MAXIMA badge.

Personally, I kind of like having the '01 tails on an '02. Lets you fly under the radar, so to speak.

I don't think I've ever stuck my key in the trunk keyhole, in the 8 years I've owned this car. Between the remote and the door-panel trunk release, I've just never done it.

In other words, you could probably paint it black and never worry about scratching the paint off.

The AE rear lip actually does have an exhaust cut out, it's just hard to see from that angle. My exhaust tip however, is angled down anyway because my muffler was welded up slightly too high, and longer hangers won't help, so I had to angle the tip slightly down to avoid burning the lip or the bumper. This bothers me, but it's hardly noticeable when looking from the rear.

The 2004-2008 Maximas have "3.5" and that was the only engine option for them, but I see where you're coming from. At least I wasn't going to put "GT" on a V6 Mustang...

I was just tired of people saying things like "my mom had a Maxima but she had the 4 cylinder."

But I'm probably going to keep it the way it is and just paint the key hole like you guys said. I'll just get some glossy spray paint and tape it off and spray it real quick. I never put my key in there anyway.
