Cost for a new radiator?

I am stuck on the side of the road right now waiting for a tow truck to show up. My car lost power and I noticed that my temperature guage was at the top. So I open the hood and there is coolant everywhere on the engine and battery. How much will it cost for a radiator and where is the best place to find one?

What is the container under the battery? There is a 2 inch in diameter opening with no hose attached. Is that my problem?

Before you go buying radiators, check the hoses.

That black item from the radiator to the engine is the upper hose. Check all connections before making rash decisions.

clear plastic? part of the intake system

as mentioned check all the hoses...if you do need a radiator, you can get one for around $100

Hearing that your car lost power scares me a little. Hopefully you didn't run it too hot for too long.

How long did you drive with the temp that high. Did you notice any white smoke from the exhaust?

Radiator and hoses are easy. Hopefully you didn't damage the head gaskets or heads.

Good Luck

Good luck on your engine surviving this.

Oh man, I hope I didn't blow it. I don't know how long I was driving it at high temperatures. The Check Engine light came on (It always goes on and off) and 20 seconds later the car started slowing down. When I pushed in the gas pedal, nothing happened so I immediately pulled over. I drive 45 minutes to work and I was almost there when it happened. How long would it take to blow?

I didn't notice any white smoke out the back and I didn't see smoke coming from under the hood until I was at a near stop. When I opened the hood, there was smoke but not too much. No different noises or anything.

How many hoses are there connecting it to the engine? I see the one big hose but are there more?

If it is a blown head gasket, how much will repairs be?

two hoses...one out to engine and one return from engine...one connected to the top, the other connects to the bottom

Radiator shouldn't be more than $150 new, figure an hour shop time to install. Check the hoses first though.

here is a write up I recently used. I picked up my radiator up for under $120 shipped. I also picked up a gallon of OEM Nissan radiator fluid and two hoses (upper and lower).
