ABS Light on and off and low power. Hmmm

My wife called me from the interstate this morning, said the ABS light was on and would come on and off. It made the car undriveable she said she got in the emergency lane and it slowed to about max 40MPH but then when it started coming on and off the car wouldn't do better then 15MPH.
We had this happen once in the past, its as if the ABS system light puts the car in limp mode.

By the time I got to her on the interstate, re-cranked the car the light was gone and drove fine.

It does sound like fail safe/limp mode. This is usually caused by something like the APS or TPS. I'm guessing it's also an AT?

Is the SES light on, if so, what is it telling you? Do you have anyway of getting the ABS code read?

There is a huge list of symptoms/causes here with respct to the ABS system:

Thanks!

Yes the SES light is on, has been on for an 02 sensor. But I can have it scanned by a buddy. Since the ABS light isnt on should it still read the code?

Yes Auto tranny.

Anyways, I will have it double checked out either way.
