Skunk smell from right front wheel well...

...will probably answer my own question, but here it goes.

For about 2-3 months I have this dead skunk smell coming from passenger front wheel well area. I am unable to determine the source.

Would this be related to the pre-cat? It does not smell lot rotten eggs (which I have past experience with on other cars) and there are not remnants of a dead skunk or any other road kill under the car.

Just attempting to diagnose if it's definitely the pre-cat or not.

Take a look to make sure nothing has melted to your exhaust. A bad cat definetly smells more like rotten egg then skunk.

Nothing there. I even power washed underbody and engine bay hoping it was skunk remnants. Still no go...

...stinks!

I'm just reaching here, but is it possible your AC condensor drain has stopped up and the water is mildewing under the carpet?

I wouldn't suspect exhaust unless you have a huge leak- that rotten smell would be coming out of the tailpipe, not from the wheelwell area.

Kind of a long shot, but maybe your tire is rubbing on something? I got a smell similar to that when one piece of my underbody panel got bent and started rubbing on my tire. The smell was speed proportionate.
