ABS Light on - how to diagnose which component is at fault?

My ABS light came on yesterday. This was shortly after I had work done to the right rear of the car (had the flange between the B Pipe and muffler removed and replaced with a piece of straight pipe because it had rotted out).

I suspect that the work done to the right rear may have messed up the right rear ABS sensor or sensor rotor, but I am not sure.

How can I diagnose the ABS system to see exactly where the fault is occuring (sensor, rotor, module, wiring, etc)?

Thanks

Find a place with a code read that reads ABS codes.

I am going to have to subscribe to this thread because this light just came on after a stop at walmart. No recent work has been done. Let us know what you come up with.

Chances are its a sensor. Test procedure in the FSM.

Look for occillating resistance when you spin the wheel, IIRC.

check and see if the wire that connects to your wheel sensor could have been snagged. I had a problem on a non nissan, but it's possible.
