Blinking SES light and lots of other problems

Ok, I know I need a new engine. I've had a mysterious power loss for almost 2 years now... a valve knock for almost a year... engine hesitation beyond 50% throttle for almost a year... my timing chain rattles when I'm at partial throttle around 2,000 RPMS... and just today my SES light started blinking after I got gas (93 octane)! It only blinked for about a few minutes or so, and went away. I've been driving very modestly and making sure the oil stays full (oil burner) with all these symptoms. Is my engine on its last legs now that the light is blinking? I'm expecting some money in about a month, and I need it to last until then! Am I gonna make it?

I'd plug a scanner in and check. Normally if the SES is blinking it's detected a misfire. Mine did that when I got my EU hooked up and I was trying to extend the rev limiter, while one of my coilpacks were going bad.

Yeah, I've had a multi-cylinder misfire for a loooong time. It went away with a new coil, then came back. My last mechanic says the misfire is caused by the valve knock? I don't know. I'm used to the check engine light, but when it started blinking, it scared me. I thought it was like a "danger" sign or something. I can't wait to get a new freakin engine man. I haven't been over 4k RPMS in almost a YEAR trying to preserve this freakin engine! Do you know how I'm used to driving? I used to live above 4k. This has been torture, lol. I think what caused this problem is driving spirited while not realizing that I was too low on oil. My engine burns oil really fast, and I was usually good with keeping it full, but I must have not been on top of it like I should have a time or 2 while pushing the engine.

blinking usually means misfires so dont freak out. You said it, is on its last leg. Just get another engine and she will be back to new again.

replace your coilpacks or check the wiring going to them..i have a code for a misfire right now and when it gets real bad it blinks...but only occurs when i start the car up every once in two blue moons, hence why i havent pushed replacing it...but a knocking engine?! i'd start saving up, locating a motor and let your mechanic know he's got a big job awaiting him

Yeah, I've already dealt with the fact that I needed a new engine. I should be able to purchase one in about a month. Let's just keep our fingers crossed until then! Thanks for your help yall.
