damaged passenger side axle.. best option?

So my roommate who is a mechanic is doing my timing chains, tensioners, guides & water pump free of charge (although the parts costed me over $600) but he informed me that he damaged the passenger side axle while removing it. So I'm wondering, will the $70 remanufactured axles from napa hold up to abuse (spirited driving) as well as the oem axles? I don't have much more money right now to throw into this thing so would it be better to buy a napa remfg axle or hit the junkyard for an oem one?

$600 in parts, labor would cost twice as much in a shop.... Free of charge.......Better hold onto him, and at least keep him in alcohol :}
