How hard are they to be replaced? Any special tools needed? Are they pressed in there or not? Thanks

I just replaced my rear bearing/hub assembly. Nissan sells it all in one piece. Remove the tire, caliper, rotor, then the cap on the hub and with a impact gun take the bolt off and it should slide right off. I believe the front bearings have to be pressed out/in.

You will have to get the front bearing pressed out and into the hub. Unless you have a 5 ton press with the adaptors, you will not be able to do this yourself.

Pulling the spindle (hub attached) is not that bad of a job. I would just suggest spraying the bolts with PB blaster and let it soak for a few hours before you try to remove them.

i replaced my left front wheel bearing a few months back, it's so much easier that our bearings are sealed units...


it's not hard to remove the spindle, and if you do it at home you will have to take the whole spindle and new bearing to a machine shop so they can press the old one out and new one in...shouldn't be more than $30/side to have them done ...


iwork in a shop so we had a shop press already ....Maxima bearings are easier than G20 bearings ( which i also did myself )

Began hearing a humming sound from the rear passenger side. Had new tires rotated to make sure it wasnt a bum tire. Humming noise still there. Old girl starting to fall apart at the seams. Whats the average price for the rear bearing replacement.
