Swapped my GLE door handles for SE ones

Man, what a pain at first. The driver's door was the most difficult because of the door lock cylinder. However once I figured out how to deal with the actuator rods, it got easier to do. The car definitely looks cleaner. I'm thinking of blacking out the chrome trim around the windows. Thoughts?

I'm a fan. It looks very good. I'm looking to do the same thing on my black GLE sometime in the near future. Definitely go the next step and black out the window trim, especially because you have the 00 SE tails and tinted windows. I think that would accent those very well.

I always thought the chrome handles looked out of place unless the handle is prominent, like on the 370Z. Having a flush handle in chrome is dumb.

Well done on the handle swap. Nice detail.

Good work Sarin. Looks much better.

Did you end up with a flex head gear wrench in there?

Nope, just ended up using my fixed head gear wrench and contorting the hell out of my hand. The front doors where the most difficult, but the rears were surprisingly easy.

Looks way better.....I hate chrome on plastic parts of cars.

Black out that window trim.......or if you feel like going the extra yard and being a little original, you could try to paint it the body color. I think that would look great!

I want to do this but think it would be easier to just paint the handles. I hate the chrome it looks so I don't mind the window trim but the handles definitely have to go.

since you did the door handles, I think you should do the trim.

I've never had good luck with paint chrome parts. I figured it's easier to get the handles that are the color I wanted.
