Does anyone know if it is possible to mount the radio controls on the wheel to 2Ks?

I've been trying to find this out for sometime. There are additional plugs on the back of the head unit, but I've been unable to get a committed answer from anyone (except Nissan HQ who basically says "No. Ugh. Airbag in steering wheel. doi.. Can't touch. duh."

After badgering someone at Bose and getting through the "you need to call Nissan. beep.", she's supposed to be trying to find out for me. I'm going to try calling Clarion since they evidentally make the head unit. I've tried a few Bose/Clarion aftermarket repair/upgrade places, but none have even given the courtesy of a reply.

I'll let u know if I find anything out. I am a bit concerned about it fitting though. The steering wheels are shaped a little differently in 2001.

First things first, though... I'm going to try to find out if it will plug in and work!

Someone had a 2001 Maxima airbag for sale on ebay the other day, black with the radio controls on it. But I just checked and its not there anymore. I guess the actual buttons are attached to the airbag unit, but of course the wiring etc would be the biggest part to figure out.
