Jwt ecu wiring
Jwt ecu wiring
Hi guys I need some help I just got a jwt 96 ecu and I need to wire it to a 2000 max do anyone have a wiring digram or no where I can fine one as u no nissan don't go by color codes
I'm honestly not trying to sound like a d!ck, but you should stop trying to make this work. You're moving backwards man. Sell the JWT ECU and buy an emanage ultimate and a wideband. This will allow you to fine tune your car to your specific mods so that you can optimize your cars potential. It will do everything the JWT ECU will do and more.
If you really want to try this, here's a little bit of what you need to do.
1. Get a complete engine harness from a 95-98 maxima.
2. get the ignition cylinder and key and all harness' associated with this also from a 95-98
3. Get the guage cluster from a 95-98
4. Since you have a 2000 engine, you also now have to find a way to control the 00VI since the 96 JWT cant control this. This means spending more $$ to buy an rpm switch and also wiring this up to open the 00VI
5. If you have an automatic, you might have to get the transmission computer also. I'm not sure if these are interchangeable between generations. But if I had to assume, I would say no based on my experience with these cars.
6. Speaking of transmissions, the pigtails from the transmission will not connect to the new (well...old) connectors from the 95-98 harness.
7. You will now have to splice the injector clips for the dek injectors because the 2000 injectors do not plug into the 95-98 harness.
8. Speaking of injectors, your car will now run pig rich during open loop because the 96 ECU thinks that you are running stock 4th gen injectors.
9. Since the JWT ECU is a pre-programmed cookie cutter ECU, the tune will not be optimized for your specific car. There are tons of variables that come into play when tuning a vehicle. I'm not saying that the JWT ecu is bad. But to get the most out of it, you will still have to add a piggy back tuning device to get the most benefits out of it. For instance, there is a local down here who dynod about 250whp before tuning while running the JWT ECU on is 3.5 swapped 4th gen. The ECU was made specifically for a 3.5 swapped 4th gen straight from JWT. After tuning with a VAFC on top of the JWT ECU, he put down about 270whp.
This probably isnt even half of what you will deal with if you try to undertake a task such as this. But bottom line, when you add up all the parts I mentioned above and the cost of the JWT ECU, you will have surpassed what it would cost to buy a greddy emanage ultimate and wideband which like also mentioned above, can net you a much better tune than you can ever dream of by relying on the JWT ECU. Not to mention how much simpler the wiring will be...

Now that's a better explnation ok I have a emanage ultimate but when I tryed to tune it the stock comp was trying to take over it was trying to stall out so I'm trying something new in talking to techs at jw they told me I'll have to fine a wiring diagram for 96 and 00 max to out how the pins set are wired to match them up so I'm at the end of my rope with it you made some good points .Did u have any problems with the emu? Maybe I need to take it to a proper tuner cause the emu is reading but something is wrong somewhere
first off anything can work if u want it to, u would have to get a pigtail for the 4th gen ecu, but like the other guy said it's a waste, so try sell the jimmy and get a TS, by the way how much u want for the emanage?
well I do have the pigtail for it I just need to wire it to the end of the harness of the 2000 but I might take the advice of dude and go to a good tuner and see if he can make the emu work I'll have to spend like 8 to 9 probley but we'll c and if It don't work you'll be the first person I contact give me 2weeks and I'll let u know

hove, did you send the ecu to jim wolf or did you get it from someone else? I agree with essential. jwt requests the mods of your then programs the fuel maps accordingly. I turboed a G20 a long time ago and had them do the tuning. not only did they need to know what size injectors were being used, but everything else to air filter, exhaust size, cat/no cat, etc. The good thing was if I did any mods it was only 100bucks for a new chip. Initial soldering of the daughter board was 500bucks back then.

I think you need to be a little more clear on what you're trying to get across here.
The way you made it initially sound is that you sent your A33 ECU to JWT and he sent it back to you modified.
Then after reading 2 times, it seems as if you sent your ECU to JWT to convert his 96 unit to your A33 unit. But then why did he even do anything if you had to make a conversion harness using the (2) ECU pinouts?
And we know that the A32 ECU is compatible with the 300zx (Z32) MAF, makes sense the A33 unit is to I suppose, but this should be helpful and 1 less reason to make a harness.
