Thumping after suspension change

I went and replaced all my struts with Blues and tein springs last night.this morning i took it for a test ride and there is a very pronounced thumping comming from the right front ive pulled the wheel and dont see any signs of wear or rubbing.this noise happens at all speeds and when i turn left or right i checked for loose hardware and things i may have forgot to hook up but nothing looks wrong.any suggestions on what it could be?

even through search you wont find a definitive answer...most of what people are going to say is that its the strut mount/bearing...do some searching and you will see whats spoken of.

search 'clunking noise'

Did you make sure to seat the bump stops in the new dust boots? The bump stop is made to ride inside the raceway at the top of the dust boot. My brother forgot to press his in and had a similar noise to what you are describing. As it turned out he had his bump stops upside down. He took them off and flipped them over and seated them fully. It takes some pressure and a good bit of twisting but they fit. A little dish soap or WD-40 should make it easier. Hope this helps.

Dunno if this is really ADVANCED SUSPENSION....but i'll bite:

Did you make sure the Spring/Strut Hat that says OUT is facing out?!

Very common mistake.

Took care of that after trimming 1.5 inches off the stops and used armor all to slip them in.

When I had a thumping side from the right side, it was a bad motor mount (upper right one).

Replace your Stablizer/Sway Bar END LINKS and Bushings FIRST.

It's easy and relatively cheap, comparatively.

Buy MOOG Links, NOT OEM. The OEM Bushings are Ok, and ES if you want to stiffen-up the Stab/ Bar, handling.

Just did mine -- AGAIN. Got rid of MOST of my clunking.

Same happened to me when I got new tires. My suspension was shot though so I had it replaced and sound went away. Couple weeks later started hearing it, turned out to be tire pressure. From summer to fall, the pressure dropped and when i pumped it up again, sound went away. Try to check that first? Cheap and easy anyway.

I got Moog links and ES everything else but the motor mounts going to install this weekend. You ever changed the Motor Subframe Bushings - Front Mount p#7.1116 is this the front to rear subframe that connects to the rad support or is this something else?

I had this problem and I got real crazy with it and found it real quick. The shock strut itself (as in the piston inside the coil) is a simple gasket pressure system and when the inner gasket blows the whole strut is shot. It will start to thump. I took mine into my garage to repair, pulled off the whole strut assembly, compressed the spring (nervously), pulled the strut out and put a new one in. Mine was so weak that I could move it in and out with zero effort, where as the new one was pretty damn hard to move down and stayed pushed out. If you haven't found your answer, roll down to autozone and buy it for $150 and replace that strut; or take it somewhere and pay them about $1K. Either way, I bet that is your problem.

**Addition** The thump comes from the inner piston smacking off the inner walls.

Lol, not sure how I missed that. Well, that was my two cents. Next to that I am not sure where you would get a thumping from. If you replaced yourself then you know that there really isn't much to make any thumping. I am sure you checked, but is your coil sitting on the shelf correctly? That little rubber cover on the bottom wouldn't be a cause for that, but if it is sitting wrong it could be clicking but in a low tone. Not sure.
