02 6 speed - seems smoother when cold.
Any reason why my car will have smoother shifts when its cold? the other day it was 35* out and the shifts had never been smoother - just clicked into all 6 gears.
As it warmed up it got less smooth. Not bad, but almost a inaudible slight grinding (for lack of a better word). It doesn't actually grind as i switch gears but sometimes its a little notchy/rough when hot.

Likely has to do with the fact that metal expands when heated and as such the spaces are tighter.....thus when it is cold out...the metal is constricted and thus more space= easier shifting....(until it warms up)

I just drained and kept my MT-90 in a clean pail so I could try Amsoil MTG GL-4 gear oil on my 6MT.
I am keeping the Amsoil. The shifting is so much better, and the crunch is 50% reduced over the already crunch reducing MT-90. It almost never does it now, and when its' warmed up, it feels incredible. It also shifts smoother than the MT-90 when the fluid is cold. This is something other people also mentioned.
I recommend the Amsoil MTG now, over MT-90.
I have yet to try the ever popular Motul.
