Are they HID in fogs??

I seen a 5th gen maxima earlier and it had yellow fogs and it looked great, I think it looked better then the stock lexus is300 fogs. To get the best yellow it would have to be a HID kit right? Which one would be the yellow 3000k?

Additionally, NO....the driving lights do not come with HID stock from Nissan. You have to add an HID kit. So, if you were thinking you could just buy a set of 3000k HID bulbs and swap them in....it won't work.

(*edited: realized I originally typed in the wrong kelvin/color. Duh!)

HID yellows? Why not do what Irish and everyone else has done with the capsules or what not?

I'm planning on getting 3000k HID bulbs and ballasts for my fogs someday. Look around online and find a cheap kit with bulbs and ballasts and wire them in. Just get the right size for stock fogs, H3 or 4 i think.

I used this kit: http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...og-lights.html

$100 and came complete with harness. I have 6k headlights and fogs. The HID fogs really make a difference.

Or, if you're on a budget, do what I did and buy Nokya Hyper Yellow bulbs.

OEM fogs are H3 like you mentioned.

Low beam HIDs are D2R.

I remember back a few years ago, there was a member with a 5th gen that did lexus yellow capsules and a 6k HID kit in the fogs behind it. It produced the most brilliant yellow color i've seen from any car before. I cant remember his name though. (It might have been "DR." something) I hate yellow fogs, but if I ever did, that would be the only way i'd do it.

Yup, the ones in there now have been in there since '02 and are def not a true 4300k, so I am going to replace them with 5000k when I do my fogs.

The early LS400's also used yellow foglights. (if those capsules are easier to come by)

HID would probably be better since it's brighter and more brilliant than halogen bulbs and less heat as well during operation!

You could just **** in your fog housings and seal them up. Even cheaper.

Those are the same ones I have. I've had them in for almost over a year and have never had a problem. Only problem was mounting the ballast since its thick
