I am in the process of purchasing a new 2002 GLE Maxima. ALL THE BELLS and WHISTLES. Gray lustler. The only thing it does not have is the nagation system. THE ONLY THING! We have them talked down to 27,500. Any words from anyone else purchasing a 2002 GLE?

 

A couple weeks ago I saw a 2002 GLE on sale for $24,888. It had the Bose and leather only I think.

 

dont get a gle....the ride is toooo floaty..get an SE at least..!!!..and the wheel gap sucks...you have to LOWER IT!!!!

get sterling mist instead of grey luster. the clear tails look much better on the lighter color, trust me.

 

For the US it is probably a decent price. In Canada, I got a 2k2 GLE with Everything (I mean everything) except NAV System for 35.4 K C$ including delivery and fees (just need to add taxes). It works out to be 22.4 K US

 

You should be able to get a bit lower than that. I picked up my loaded 2002 Merlot GLE with the Sunroof, Side Air Bags, Deflector, painted rear flaps, traction control, mats (both the regular cloth ones AND the all weather ones) and Meridian for a touch under $26,900.

No I'm serious.. i know there was someone here that was doing some real research, intent no getting a maxima from canada, and from what they posted it looked like a really sweet deal.!!!

wouldnt u have to pay more taxes though if u buy ur max in canada?

 

You would have to pay the 15% tax up front, then you will get a refund in the mail in about a month. You also have to pay some weird tax's on AC and a few other little things, I think the total of that is about $300. You also have to pay a 2.5% Tarif tax. It's worth it but there is a LOT of paper work involved, you have to learn your stuff before you even think about it. Start by doing a search on this site.

Also keep in mind the speedo will be in Kilometers, to change it you have to spend about $250.

On the plus side, you get a full size spare tire and depending on location a engine heater. VLSD is also standard.
