The digital gauge doesn't actually read out your live, current speed. It's an average speed over time graph that the car maps out as you travel.

Apparently it's used so that people can compare how fast they're going to their average MPG. I think it's pretty useless. A real-time digital gauge like my Z has would be much more useful...

I don't think it works on any maxima. It stays the same speed no matter what haha. I bet you could drive across the country at 100 mph and it wouldn't' change. POS.

If you hold down the "mode" button, it'll reset itself.

The problem with the average MPH and avg MPG readouts is that the program seems to run a MPH/MPG vs. time graph, which means that as the data points recorded grow and grow, the readouts settle to a point and don't shift much from there. (Kind of like finding the average of 40 people versus 40,000.

The system doesn't reset the data until you hold down the "Mode" button, so it just keeps taking in data and averaging that to the total overall information.

I've done that before, I think and it still wasn't correct. I'll try again and see what happens.

the reason it moved was because the previous owner reset it, and it was learning all over again!
