2002 SE - P1147 and P139code...and cant fix !

Ok guys,

I have a 2002 SE, 152k on it. kept in good condition, mechanically and visually. Recently i got a CEL for p1147 and p139. After researching, found that the O2 sensor is what needs to be replaced. So replaced the O2 with a NTK one, which once i received it, looked smaller than the OEM Bosch one.

The CEL usually ends up going away after the O2 is changed...but mine is still on ! i went to autozone, and the only code that is throwing out is 1147 now, 139 is gone. A friend told me that the ECU reprograms itself after 300 miles or so. I got the CEL reset, but the light comes back.

All of this is getting me bad MPG and crap performance. How can i fix this ?

Thanks !

That part number is the one you want for the location, at least according to the manufacturer. NTK uses that same part number for the left and right banks while Bosch has a separate part number for each bank. I would think the actual sensor would be the same for both banks and just have a different wire length.

Either the sensor you bought is bad or it is not an exact replacement. Either way, you need to get another sensor.
