LED Tail light bulbs

Bought Putco 7443 LED Red Tail Light Brake Bulbs and 2 weeks later they both melted. Although the performance shop is willing to replace or refund, saying these bulbs are quality bulbs and should never happen, I'm not sure what to do. Anyone else have problems with LED bulbs?

Unless they're not wired in properly or you have a short somewhere, how in the world did they get hot enough to melt? LEDs emit a cold light.

Any pics of the damage?

The LED bulbs are direct fit so there is no issue with how they are wired. The original bulbs worked before I replaced so I don't think there is a short. Any ideas?

The only other thing I can assume is a short in the bulb itself.

I have LEDs all throughout my car (in the parking lights, dome light, map lights, courtesy lights, etc.) and haven't had any issues.
