Good to be here

What's up guys? Picked up a 2002 Sterling Mist 6MT back in April and have been lurking since then. Came from Festiva, Accord, Prelude, SVT Contour, and now, the 'Pad. Not much done yet except the STS mod so far. In the future will be a cheap short ram, FSTB, RSB, fog light rewire, have my buddy throw it on a Consult II to tweak some features i wish to behave differently, possibly a set of 6th gen SE's, and im trying to work out a way to tint the chrome on the tail lights because i don't know what Nissan was thinking with those. And if anyone has any insight on how to fire the HID with the remote, that would be superb. Also in the spring will be tint. 30 on the windows, 50 on the sunroof, and POSSIBLY 80 on the windshield. im still debating the benefit/risk factor, tho honestly i think it's worth it with such a weak tint. We'll see.

I'll shut the hell up now and make with teh pics:

and some boobies for good measure

Welcome to the 5th gen Forum, Lurker. Lots of good info. Lots of good people.

Advice... 3 megapixel images destroy a thread, forcing most people to scroll horizontally.

Haven't seen an Intro Thread in a while. Makes me wonder what happened to SoonerFan.

OP, consider yourself lucky to have missed that special banter.

quite true. im having major problems with photobucket right now. i resized them 3 times and i guess none of them took. im STILL working on trying to get it to stick.

or we can get admins to turn on autosizing like every other modern forum

thanks for the welcome

#1 I like your taste in cars. Yours is the twin to mine, 2002 Sterling Mist with the Frost interior and 6MT

#2 The best mods so far have been the free STS and the RSB. The RSB definitely impact handling in curves for the good.

#3 Be careful overdoing the tint unless you enjoy the ricey look. Just my opinion..

#4 Best intro I have ever seen, complete with cleavage and lingerie. Welcome aboard.

How many miles on your 6MT? Mine just hit 88,000

oh yeah #5, I'm torn on tail lights. It would be nice if the chrome matched the paint, but the black ones look too dark,
and I'm not sure it is worth the 100 bucks to get the red Eagle Eye ones. So far I'm neutral on changing them so have
not spent any money on that. A new muffler will come first. I want to hear something out of the back when I shift.

STS is sweet! makes the car drivable by being able to hit gears in time

This is true. Being a silver car, i know the tint is gonna contrast pretty hard

#4 Best intro I have ever seen, complete with cleavage and lingerie. Welcome aboard.

Though i'd bring somethin to the table for you cats

130 :/ she's clean tho. im guessing the previous owner didn't have any family. the seat belts aren't even scratched from clicking into the buckles

I'm not gonna go as dark as a 5th gen tail, but if i could find a way to open mine up and tint/nightshade the chrome itself. risky tho
Thanks for the responses guys.

Im still searching, trying to imagine a way to fire the HID's with the unlock button. maybe tie into the ring around the ignition, or the residual power that auto locks the doors if you don't open them after a period of time

Curious what you are trying to accomplish, other than being able to deplete your battery.

Might be smarter to get a remote start and just set your headlights to "Auto" if you have the need to have remote lighting...

i dont *need* to have it, but since cobalts and cheap GM's and **** do it, i think we should be able to do it. all i'd need to do is show the HID system an "ignition on" situation and they should run for, after the Consult II, 2 minutes. Id like it so i can light my way at night or find the car in a parking lot and so on. and i may be mistaking, but im pretty sure the HID uses a fraction of what a normal halogen uses, plus rundown protection etc etc

...

Welcome to the forum, looks just like mine when it was stock.I would stay away from the 6th gen wheels tho, theyre pretty heavy and another option for the tails is to swap in some 00-01 tails

So, uh, anyway... Shd, what do you think of the Maxima vs the domestics you've been cruising around in? Why'd you switch to a Maxima?

I wish I had Gray Lustre instead of Sterling Mist. If I had to have a beige car, that is. Majestic Blue > all. Why didn't they offer a red 5th gen? Or a LeMans Sunset 5th gen? *drool*

well, it was either a WRX or 02-03 maxima. i like bigger cars with more road presence, and i love me some torque. plus, i wanted to get back into a flagship vehicle

The maxima is a lot more refined, but it's definitely lighter weight (feeling) than my SVT was. SVT sounded MUCH better stock. The lude was fun, the accord was good as well. And i miss the festiva very much. the color i wanted on the maximais that navy blue they came in. teh secks!

here's a (crappy) video i shot one day. i probably peaked at around 80 for reference. not bad for a 2.5 haha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3Bt1flGHC8
