Nasty smell at high speed?

My 2000 SE starts to smell fowl like eggs at high speed/RPM. Im assuming cats are bad? Should I just order new front and rear ones or if I take somewhere would they be able to determine which is bad? Car seems to have lost power as well. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Clogged cat, for sure. If you're losing power, I'd have diaged as soon as possible. That means the cat is almost completely stopped up.

If you're not throwing a code, it sounds to me like it may be the secondary cat. But a shop can very easily find out in a few hours' time.

There are three cats on the car. I'd say have him figure out which cat it is before you order the part...most places (Autzone, etc) can have the part within 24 hours.

It'll save you a lot of time and frustration of trying to return the other cats that you don't need.

You sure it's not your passenger losing bowel control when you hit redline in 4th gear?

I would just get headers if its the pre-cats besides spending all that money on some pre-cats. Just my opinion though

If I was to get headers that would in turn eliminate the pre-cats? That doesn't seem like a bad idea.
