How to test bad ignition coil???

How to test bad ignition coil???

After replacing the #5 cylinder coil about a month ago I have the P0300 again ... the first time I actually took all 6 coils out and tested them with the volt meter I just came across a video online that shows a different method... Just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

I too had code P0300 and thought that the coils were bad. I tested them and all were ok. I cleaned up the TB and cleared the code. That fixed it. If your idle is low it will throw that code b/c of misfiring. If your car is a 2000-2001, you should check the iacv or the throttlle pos sensor. Also try to clean the TB.

about a month ago when I was testing all coils I also replaced the oil, filter, cleaned the K&N filter, cleaned the cold air intake and also the TB, even that the TB looked pretty good for a car which has 167,xxx miles. I know that it is a misfire because this morning when I started the car I got outside to clean all the snow from last night, about 5 min after I fired the car I was still cleaning it and I could clearly hear the car misfire ... probably tomorrow I will run outside and do the test with unplugging the connectors also about a week latter i had another stored code P1320..

I am pretty sure that I am dealing with another bad coil here again... for the past week the temperatures here in Ohio were crazy low, a few morning after starting the i check the tem outside and somewhere between 8 to 10 crazy cold, but the car cranked and started with absolutely no hesitation but then after a few min it will cut/misfire sometimes it even happened while I was driving mainly in second gear

Been having a little mixture here and there haven't checked nothing out yet but will do what you've tried cause think I got a bad coil also.

for those who are trying to save some $ on coils, I just got a BWD (Part No E393 ) coil from Advance auto for $40 for front, they are $63 regular use coupon "BIG25"

I can tell you this, DO NOT user aftermarket coils, they will not take away the SES light. i found that out the hard way, you have to buy OEM nissan coils only. and they can't really diagnose one coil, you really just have to replace them all.

about a month ago I end up calling Dave B and ordered 6 new coils (gray dot)
My car is back to normal now, after taking a 3,000 mile trip with the in-laws not problems, no lights, no hesitations, great gas millage close to 450miles on full tank of gas with 4 people inside the car and trunk full to the top, the car looked like it has a 3inch drop on the back
