Spare Tire - What was Nissan thinking

Now I know how Nissan got all that extra trunk room in the 2k2 over our old '98. They stole it from the spare tire wheel well. A full size spare fits the diameter, but it sticks up 2-3" above the trunk floor.

My STOCK 16 fits fine - I just had to take the foam blocks off the back of the cover.
