Snapped control arm, Torn CV boot, Axle popped out of the Tranny
Hydroplanned while i was driving today and slammed my driverside front wheel into a curb. For sure my control arm is broken, i can see the axle has popped out of the tranny, and my CV boot is torn. The car still starts and what not, but how bad can the extent of the damage be is what im wondering?
sorry to hear that man but your probably looking at buying a new control arm inner and outer tie rod, cv axel, tranny fluid maybe a strut... just basic remove and replace and alignment is a must afterwords...post some pics tho if u can that would help us determine what you might need..
lol wow....
well at the least a cv axle which is cheap and easy to replace
control arm and bushings (might as well get energy suspension stuff on both sides)
fluid yeah
check ur tie rods as well

if you're going to get the new parts soon, FCP Import has a GREAT deal on most of the stuff you will need... new axles and hubs are 20% off until the end of the year, a kit that contains both control arms, inner/outter tie rod ends, and ball joints is $140. I just spent $285 for that kit, both axles, and sway bar bushings.

Like I said in the other thread, go pick up another front corner at a salvage yard. Really the only salvageable things I see in that mess is the brake caliper & rotor. I would expect the strut to be bent too given the fact the knuckle is destroyed.
Almost what I did last month. I slid into a curb rear tire first which slammed the front into the curb. I needed a new knuckle and LCA. Replaced swaybar endlinks too. I happen to have another set of LCA's with ES bushings and balljoints. I have some issues still but i haven't replaced tie rod ends which will look at in the spring. That's easily 1500.00 in damage.
