Need opinions on good rims for the track?
I've been wanting a PAIR of rims to put tires on for when I go to the 1/4-mile drags, Nitto 555s or whatever, to help with traction. I'm not going to need something CRAZY light/small, since I don't plan on having NOS or a SC anytime soon.
I was hoping to locate some 15-16" lighter weight(at least less than my OEM 17s) rims in an 8" width(older 300Z?) for not too much cash. However, I found some NEW 2001 16" OEM 5-star SE rims(6.5"?) for around $200 SHIPPED on ebay. Hopefully it won't look too bad with my stock rears.
Any advice on if I should keep looking for a WIDER rim or will this rim be good enough with a track tire for LIGHT track duties?

Volk TE 37's in a 15 in diameter, and I think they come in 7 or 8 inch widths, the 15's are only 9lbs each, but they are quite costly though. Try a smaller tire(apect ratio) like a 205/60 15 instead of a 205/65,
it'll throw your speedo off by approx 3%, but will lower your gear ratio and make your car accelerate faster, thus giving you a faster 1/4 mile time..
