Car died and does not start, HELP!!!

Hello,

I have a 2000 Maxima GXE Auto. Came out of the house yesterday to repark the car. Started it up and the car ran for about 20-30 seconds and then died. I was not able to start it since. The engine cranks and it feels like ignition is ok but it just does not want to start running again.

*Battery is at 12.6V
*All ignition coils are with "grey dot"
*MAF was replaced with an updated one.
*Fuel pump fuse is OK

Never had starting issues prior to this...

Thank you.

Sounds like it is not getting fuel. Check the fuse for the fuel pump.

The fuel pump fuse looks ok. Where is the fuel pump relay located on these cars... I have trouble finding it... :-(

Hmmm...good question. I could not find is the FSM. Perhaps it is located near the fuel pump assembly in the tank. I'm not sure thought, hopefully someone else has some insight.

I tried 2 keys as well to no avail... it was like they had to reset the immobilizer or something for it to work. but it sounds like the same problem as mine started then died after ~20 sec. or so... the battery looked good and you could hear it trying to crank but it just wasent getting fuel, i had it sitting in a local shop for days with them scratching their heads before i took it to a dealership.

Should be able to hear if the pump is running just by turning the key but not starting and listening for the wine of the pump.

Where do you live? If its freezing outside and your tank is running low you could have some ice in your fuel lines. Just a though

your security light will stay lit while you are trying to start the car if there is an immobilizer issue.

The fuel pump relay is in the driver side footwell, behind the kick panel on the left side. The fuel pump relay and the rear defogger relay are mounted on a bracket that is tucked away in there.
