Tachometer needle not going down smoothly

Hi
just wanted to ask about my tachometer needle, when I rev let's say 2k or 3k RPMs , the needle goes up normally but goes down in steps , not very prominent thought but kinda not smooth as when going up !
is it something with the tacho it self ? or related to MAF or TB ?
thanks

Mine does the same thing . It's kinda funky it goes up and down though the range seeming almost like it is sticking for a split second .. Is this a common problem for the 5.5 gen?

could just be rubbing against the faceplate, thats what solved my problem. sometimes that faceplate moves around and if you do happen to take it apart you'll see how it all goes together.

this link by shift ice will pretty much tell you how to remove the cluster IF you plan on taking it apart yourself
