Cylinder Head Freeze Plug Helpful Info
Cylinder Head Freeze Plug Helpful Info
Thanks to the dude doing the vq swap for the pics. Timmay in FL I believe.

Notice the red circle. Thats the freeze plug on the front head. If yours happens to remove itself one day, you have to take off the plenum and lower intake. Then use a combination of a socket, a prybar, a large screwdriver as a fulcrum to muscle in a new freeze plug, which cost a whopping 52 cents. I got OEM Nissan gaskets at the dealer for $90...OUCH. Also FYI, NO PARTS STORE IN ATLANTA STOCKS VQ30 INTAKE GASKETS. Order them online.
Got my car running so I'd like to share my lesson learned. Even if you replace your radiator on the side of the road when it's 96 degrees, remember to put antifreeze in later. Dammit.
