Which is the best intake for the AE?
Which is the best intake for the AE?
I am considering JWT or Stillen. I hear Stillen is more expensive. Any other recommendations? Which gives the most power for the $$$. Do you feel a significant difference after the install? Your comments are much appreciated.

I went with the Stillen because it looks better, IMO. You feel a difference above 60+ MPH.

JWT and Stillen are almost exactly the same. Stillen has a better mounting bracket but that's really about it. Both give you the same performance gains.
I would have to say that Place Racing's cold air intake has the best sound, most expensive, and best performance gains.
Check out custommaxima.com. They sell the JWT and the Cold Air Intake by Place Racing at decent prices.
Hope this helps
OSCAI
Don’t forget OSCAI… silly name for a really good, cheap intake modification.
Basically, you cut a hole in the bottom of your stock intake box, run a shop-vac hose to under the car, and get a K&N panel filter.
Total cost: Less than $60.
Benefits: Same high-end performance gains (so I’ve heard) as JWT or stillen, but without losing some low-end torque as you do with those cone intakes. Also, a benefit for me was no banging around near your MAF sensor while trying to install- and it looks stock.
Took me 15 minutes, and I suck at that kind of stuff.
Do a search, you’ll find lots of info about it… although, it seems like everyone forgot about it recently. If there’s a reason for this, please let me know guys.
I felt a noticeable- but not drastic- improvement at highway speeds. Almost no noise difference at all.
FYI:
2K1 AE 5 speed, OSCAI, Y-pipe and a brand new set of Nittos.

Hey mon! Haven't "read" from you in a while!
Between the Stillen and JWT I would go JWT. I went with Stillen way back when I didn't know better. Both perform the same. The JWT is cheaper. And both can be cleaned with the K&N Cleaning kit.
Be sure to post up at the Canadian Roll Call at:

Coupled with an OSCAI and their is a big difference.

You already posted in the audio section. How many places do you need to ask?
