Anyone know which is the best brand for replacing the pump? Looks like the choices are Maval, Cardone and Beck Arnley. Doesn't seem to be any OEM ones available and all are remanufactured now.

Also, how hard of a job is it to replace the pump? Something better left to the mechanics?

 

Unfortunately, I don't know which brand is good or bad. As to the difficulty, it is kind of hard because you are working in a very tight space.

Here is a link to a 4th gen thread about changing the ps pump. The 4th and 5th gen pumps are the same and the car bodies are very similiar.
