Power Seat broke, and all I need is one little gear!

Haven't posted in a good long time, but I need your help!

My 2003 Maxima SE's driver seat motor stopped working. More specifically, the left side stopped working. I did a search, and found a great write-up and links to the TSB for the power seat.

Dissassembled the slide motor assembly, and checked the leads for the motor itself-they were good. However, I did notice while I had the assembly off the seat, but still plugged in that the left side worm screw would turn about half a turn and stop.

I remove the left hand worm screw, and find a plastic gear with about half its teeth missing. THIS is why it's not turning, and why the seat isn't moving.

A few different dealerships have quoted anywhere from $240 to $340 for a new seat slide motor assembly.

Every auto salvage place in the DFW area hasn't been much help or they don't have any 02-03 Maximas.

I really don't want to have to fork out all that moolah for a little plastic gear.

Any help, ideas, etc? PM me if you know how to get the part.

Thanks

I have a full driver's side track as well, $100 shipped for whatever part you need off of it.

EDIT: If the part is as small as what I see in the group buy page, I'm willing to do $50 shipped instead. Thought it might be a bigger portion of the seat track.

Awesome. I'll re-dissassemble the seat tomorrow morning and pull the gear to do a stare-n-compare for the gears on the thread that you linked to, zero2sixty.

And abominable and kiyakerz, thanks for your offers to help...I'll let you guys know.

Thanks again guys!

Stiil got those parts?

Looks like I'm in the same boat as Hollywood...I'm new here and registered just to check and see if you (Abominable and Kayakerz) still have those parts to get rid of. The only thing I need is that little plastic gear inside the gearbox and there's no way I'm forking out 250.00 for the whole new seat slide assembly just to get it. Please let me know if you're still willing and able to sell off some of those parts....

And Hollywood...did that take care of it? Any new problems?

Thanks
