SES code issues
Ok Well my car has been driving fine besides a slight harder startup when cold. So I take it to the shop to get looked at. Well my coils were going bad. No biggy I bought all new coils and put in new spark plugs. Well a week later the light came back on. 2 weeks later it went off. A few weeks after that it came back on again. This went on for about 3 months and then finally stayed on. So I took it back to the shop to get fixed.
They found a P0400 egr system flow malfuntion and a P0158 02 signal high bank 2 code. Well for $823 they replaced the egr valve and and 1 hose and replaced the 02senser.(forgot the $120 to check the car out) Well they did the work and the codes are still there after he cleared them. Yup 50miles and they came right back. So I take it back and they look over it. He clears the codes takes it for a drive and gets the same p0400code and now a p0430 (catalyst efficience low bank 2 code) so he told me he doesnt know whats wrong with the car??????? So Im out over $900 and still have the same issues? Any ideas???
Also had them look at the suspention for $30 charge while they had it as I am getting lound clunks over bumps on the front end. He tell me that the rear stut mount is hitting???? I checked that out and its the plastic dust bot thats makeing noise back there but the front noise is still very loud and they say theres nothing wrong?????
Please Im now broke and need help to fix my car.
(and dont get me started on how they got me with my wifes car at the same time

The P0430 is your precat needing to be changed.
From my searches, the P0400 is the EGR valve/tube clog. If those have been changed and you are still getting the code, I don't know what to tell you.
Only the 2000 Maxima and older have the EGR valve. 2001- and up we don't have that.

They replaced one tube on the egr valve and replaced the egr itself. I guess I will tear it apart and make sure there is no clog in any of the other hoses to it. THANK YOU!
P0400 help
I have searched for quite some time and cannot find a how-to on cleaning out the hose and/or replacing the egr valve. Best I can find is to pull the air housing and pull of the TB to get to the hose.
I have a 2000 model with the 0400 and starting issues are beginning to evolve.
Is there just ONE hose to clean out and is it pretty much just a gasket for replacing the TB? I have cleaned my TB while on the car before, so I am **assuming** this is just one step further to remove TB and the hose coming from the EGR valve to see if it is clogged? Then clean and see if problem solved?
Can anyone affirm my thinking or provide a how-to or pointers?
