you should go back to the place that did your core support
they may be able to weld it depending on how bad it is and they may give you a good deal

yea they probably would but sine im getting a megan racing rear section in on wed i was planning on going with a 2.5" b-pipe in the future anyway but sine it got worse now i just want to do it now.

im thinking about going to my local muffler shop, where my neighbor happens to work, on wed and just have them fab up a ss 2.5" mandrel bent b-pipe, install my rear section, install my test pipe, and weld something to support the y-pipe flex section since mine has the support for a 4th gen not a 5th gen. what you guys think?

Ok just dropped the car off at the exhaust shop. They dont do stainless steel but I can care less, so they are making me a 2.5" b-pipe with a resonator, they are installing my test pipe, they are installing my megan racing rear section, and they are welding in a hanger for my y-pipe; and the best part is they are doing all this, which is taking them 3 hrs, for $200 bucks . I cant wait to pick it up.

Went on the highway and everything today, it sounds good I like it even tho sometimes it sounds too loud but I'm getting used to it. One problem tho, I hear some metal on metal action so when I got out I checked it out and its from the muffler moving side to side hitting something, they appear to have used all the stock points to secure the muffler so is this normal?

Also they ran the new b-pipe str8 from the test pipe to the rear section so that little pipe where the O2 sensor goes is completely eliminated, so now my question is since the sensor is completely removed I'm going to have a code is there some way I can use and simulator on it or something to get rid of that P0420 code I was having anyway?

Yea but if you look in the vid those things look brand new you see it in the right upper corner of the pic of the vid without even playing it.

I'll just head back there tomorrow morning and see what they can do.

Went back today, they welded on a new bracket to keep it from moving side to side for no charge Now its perfect, just picked up my valve cover gaskets so now I have all the gaskets needed so I can tear into that manifold. Next week is spring break so maxed_out what days are you free during the week so we can tear into this baby?

yeah you could do that i dont know exactly where to get one though

i would have welded a bung and put a spark plug defouler in it
it worked on my honda but this is a different beast

all the post cat o2 does is read how well the cats working
instead of a up and down pattern (rich and lean) it reads a flat line

Ok so now I want to make my exhaust quiet, I don't like the noise at all. SO far I've been told to add another resonator between test pipe and exhaust, add another muffler instead of resonator, or get a catalytic converter. So my goal is to get it as quiet as possible even if it means sacrificing a bit of power, as long as I don't lose most of the power gained by the exhaust. So tell me what you guys think since I don't want to do something and still not like the noise.

Ok so 3 days of maxed_out riding out here and about 10 hours of work and the front and rear valve cover gaskets, and upper and lower intake manifold gaskets are finally all replaced and best of all the car started up fine the first time

Btw big shout out to maxed_out_99 without this guy none of this would have happened, this guy does excellent work and removed everything and reinstalled it perfectly didn't even break one little crappy plastic clip, really knows his ****, I recommend this guy to anybody in the Chicagoland area, I mean only removed and installed once and car started up right away no trouble with anything or any troubleshooting of any sort

Yea problem fixed man you called it right!

SO yesterday the oem muffler came in the mail so this morning I went to the muffler shop and had them cut off the megan and weld this one in and the best part is they charged me a 12 pack of Heineken light to do it so I bought them a case to be nice

Car sounds much much more quiet but when I step on it, it does still make some noise but to me its sounds great I like the little light rumble it gives out even though it gives out a little rattle but I'm happy the obnoxious noise is gone, when I walked in the guy was like whats up? I was like its too loud I bought an oem muffler instead, he laughed and said yea I hear you come home every night LOL (hes my neighbor from across the street).

Ok so car is throwing the P0300 random misfire code, i pulled the coils to see if there was any kind of leaking of any oil causing a misfire since the tube seals were just replaced with the valve cover gaskets and everything was fine but the coils looked so old and faded. At this point I'm assuming they've never been replaced.

I cleaned my MAF and noticed the little thermistor is missing on my mine WTF My car is having some of the symptoms my previous 00 had when my MAF was on its way out.

I believe the 2000/2001 don't have thermistors.

Oh yea bro megan coilovers are the next mod, I hate I have to keep replacing stupid sensors and parts which keeps putting me back on the coilovers but they'll be here within less than a month hopefully.

May be I am completely crazy, but is the radiator support bracket only supporting the radiator or is it supporting lot more than that? If it is only supporting the radiator, I am seriously considering getting bunch of angle brackets from Home Depot and coming up with a hack so that the radiator will be resting on the brackets bolted to the inside fenders. The top of the fender can support the entire weight of the engine. For example, HF sells engine support lift and there is a guy who actually replaced his journal bearings from bottle while the engine was hanging off that HF bar resting on the fenders.

Anybody has tried this approach?

I found some progress springs and kyb gr2 struts locally on craigslist, the guy says they have roughly 20k on them and he only wants $250 for all 4 struts and springs.

What you guys think? I wanted coilovers but this is big savings and I've heard nothing but good things about progress springs.

Thats pretty good, cheaper than you could find on here. Just be sure to check the condition of the struts out pretty good. Progress springs are among the best but they can blow out just about any strut aftermarket or not. Wish I could find parts like that in my local CL. Seems like all I can ever find is 6th gen tail lights...and thats about it lol.

Yea I came up on it by accident, usually all I see is 6th gen aftermarket parts on there only.
