Maxima Wont Start

First off, hey to everyone.

I've got an 01 GLE that has the infamous starting issues that maximas tend to have. The YouTube video below is a video of exactly what my car is doing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPVAvjUvtZ8

What I've done, and or, are about to do:
1. Changed Spark Plugs (wasnt the issue but needed to be done)
2. Cleaned/sanded cables and battery terminals.
3. Had the started test at Orealllys. (it tested good 3 times)
4. Had the battery tested as well (battery tested fine but I replaced it anyway.)
5. Found that Negative battery cable was corroded, pulled it, made my own with 2 4ga cables. (nissan wanted $80 for theres and that aint happenin.)

I'm about to go put another ground to the tranny as I've read thats the most likely cause.

Other than grounding problems, does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Nope, no DTC, I was actually think of trying new crank/cam sensors to see. but would that really effect the slow cranking on the starter?

Sorry bud, I don't have any experience with 5th gens. You should try the 5th gen forums, maybe someone posted up this problem and solved it. You can try these two links:

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...n-how-diy.html

http://forums.maxima.org/5th-generat...on-issues.html

Good luck.

Will the car start in neutral? If so, maybe it is the neutral safety starter switch.

I actually started thinking about it yesterday, and it really seemed like a starter issue, so I took it back up to oreillys and had them test it again, and it passed again. So I told the guy what it was doing and he decided to let try a new one. sure enough, it was the starter. But thats not the end of my trouble. Even though it started, its putting out multiple misfires. I assume it has something to do with when I changed the spark plugs. Possibly coil packs?

Also, I just want to say thank you to the mod for cleaning this up.

EDIT

I just looked this up in the FSM
"Misfire (Possible three way catalyst
damage) — DTC: P0300 -
P0306 is being detected" "on blinking CEL"

Would that really cause a misfire?

Yeah, I know for sure that thats happening. What do think is most likely cause? Everything electrical in the car is acting up. Door locks dont function unless the key is in the run position, when one of the doors is open the trunk light comes on with the door ajar light. keyless entry doesnt work at all unless the key is in run position.

Either your car was a flood victim and all the circuitry is shorting out, or your ECU is on its way out.

That's what it sounds like to me, anyway...

I got the misfires worked out. When my neighbor and I changed the spark plugs, he bend the hell out of the connectors on 2 coil packs. I straightened them out and plugged them back in, resolved.

The electrical issues, I'm pretty sure are fuses. I found one or two which blew at some point during the whole diagnosis process.

In the video it sounds like it is not receiving fuel, Do you hear the fuel pump prime when you first turn on the key ?

This is why I recommend advance auto parts over autozone and oreilly. both AZ and O'r use tools that only says pass/fail on whether starter is cranking or not. Cranking does not mean its cranking at correct speed to make flywheel going. on other hand, Advance auto has analog gauge to tell you at what speed starter is cranking.

BTW, dont mean to bash you but your maxima wont start will actually yield tons of results on these forums. And I know for fact, since I've added my above .02 on most of them.
