After reading every single post here I have to say I am confused...
My next project is to upgrade the stock bulbs in the fogs... I was thinking about just replacing the bulbs with Hella or PIAA, but after some research I came to the conclusion that the HID kid with H3 is pretty much the same price...

Here is my question should I go ahead and just get the HID kid? Without having a projector is the light pattern any good?
Could I damage the housing of the fogs? May be to much heat?
For those of you who have upgraded their fogs to HID do you have any problems?

Three things:
1) HIDs will be fine. They will not deform or melt the housings in any way.
2) If you get the H3, and not the H3C bulbs, the lighting will be just fine.
3) Make sure you get a high-quality HID kit that comes with a warranty...HID Extra, etc.
No eBay crap. Trying to get them to replace a faulty part under warranty is impossible.
Also, light output is pretty even and smooth, even with HIDs in the fogs. They're definitely the way to go if you want to increase light output. I've even got my glare guards bent down slightly to make room for the bulbs, and no glare issues whatsoever.

, want to also include another recommended place, www.hidconcept.com. As for high quality brands, Philips, Osram, McCulloch, and Mtec.
Myself as well of plenty of others on here have never had an issue with DDM kits, go for the digital ballasts with 35w. 55w is just overkill and can get too hot, its just not safe for such small of housings. Make sure you mount the ballasts well as they can come loose easily when going over bumps/dips.
So I just ziptied them to the factory ballast mounts (on the side opposite the factory ballasts, obviously). Problem solved.
ddmtuning is good but there ****ing shipping is horrible theres one dude i deal with on ebay his username is "supervtec" i bought 10 kits in the last 3 months for friends and family no problem with them what so ever and if you have any issues he will send you a brand new pair and on top of that he ships very fast
I bought a 35W 3000K HID set on eBay for $70 about a year ago, and they've been working fine since, never had a problem. Whether you buy them on eBay or any other website, I'm pretty sure they all come from China anyways so the quality will be the same...
If you think the lights may melt your housing, don't get the 55W, go for the 35W.

Which kit did you end up getting?
I'm looking at the DDM site because one of my fog lights just burnt out - 55 bucks w/ harness seems pretty damn cheap. Maybe I just thought HID lighting would be more money...
