Question about a newer VQ

I have an 03 6spd 5.5 gen maxima and i came across a good deal on an 05 altima vq35. Will there be any diffrences in swapping in that 05 vq, as far as any wiring or sensors? Or is it just a direct matching swap? I'm not sure if there is a thread on this already but ive looked well and couldnt find a relating thread, but if there is i apologize in advance and would appreciate being pointed in the correct direction.

The 05 L31 VQ is the equivalent of a 6th gen engine.

......meaning that i will have to swap over my UIM, knock sensor, and the 05 motor being an automatic, my CPS, and flywheel obviously plus my oil pan off of the 03 motor?

you sir have just about convinced me to be more patient and find and 02-03 vq, so that i will only have to change the flexplate and cps (since it will be an auto find 90 percent of the time), thus giving me less of a headache

Upper IM isn't a bad deal, nor is the KS, they will sorta go hand in hand. I've never done the swap personally, but have gone through the FSM a few times and that thread I linked, and it shouldn't be too bad. Most difficult part, IMO, would be your CPS deal, but that's probably something you'll need to go through anyway.

On the other hand, swapping the manifold is a good excuse to change the plugs and install NWP intake spacers...

Go for the 05 and skip past any potential oil burning. Plus, I'm sure the miles will be much lower.
