Is this important?

Just gutted my precats, bought one used but it was off a 5gen not a 5.5 so it didnt fit, so i decided to just go ahead and gut both. Anyways so while i was under the car I saw this:

Is that a grounding cable? and Is it important?
I was thinking about buying a grounding kit off of shijiduo anyways, but what problems could this potentially cause?

EDIT: I needed to make the pictures bigger

The first picture looks like a ground strap. Nissan put it there possibly to prevent radio interference. As for it being important ? I had several on my Z that we rusted though that I never bothered to replace and didn't have any problems.

Yeah I figured its just a ground strap, but for the radio? Seriously thats the only reason I have it?

Maybe to prevent your exhaust from falling into the road as another reason....not sure how realistic that is, but I also agree it's mainly a grounding issue. I'm sure the exhaust can build up some static with that exhaust moving through it.
