Will a 2000 Maxima Engine Work in a 2001 Maxima

Its been awhile since I've posted here. I've had several 5th gen, and 5.5 gen Maximas in the past. I just picked up a 01 Maxima last night for $750, and it appears to need an engine. My question here is: can you use a engine from a 2000 Maxima in an 01 Maxima? Where I live we have a local Pick N Pull with a 2k Maxima that just came in and was hit in the rear. I've bought several motors from this place in the past out of wrecked cars and have never had a issue. The parts interchange shows 2001 Maxima engines will only interchange with an 01 Maxima. I'm sure that someone will have the answer to this question here. Anyone know what the differences are between the 2000-2001 Maxima engine and what Ill have to change to make the 00 engine work in my 01 Max. These newer engines are hard to find where I live and the average price is about $750.

Someone correct me if im wrong but the 01 has a vq30DE-K, which is only available to 2001. Micropolishd internals and other stuff, its a little stronger than 00. Should wait and find another DE-K if its not an absolute must for now, IMO.

Edit, used to write 35 after vq, LOL, my bad.

00 and 01 are both vq30de-k. Should be swappable. 01 has a newer engine cover, I guess for the Anniversary Edition, but underneath still at vq30.

It will work but the 95-01 are pretty much the same 00 and 01 have a few differences ie: variable intake manifold different rear valve cover iacv tb lower manifold and fuel rail/injectors. 01 was the only motor to have the EGR blocked from factory though

Yeah I'm pretty sure the engines themselves are exactly the same going from an 00 to an 01. Though the anniversary edition was quoted with 5 more hp but thats about it.
