Oil In Ignition Coil?
Oil In Ignition Coil?
Hey guys long time,
I just changed my spark plugs after 100k Miles because my gas mileage is down to about 18 on the highway. I changed the front 3 plugs fine and took the intake plenum off and then changed the rear 3 plugs.
When I removed the final ignition coil (closest to the driver) and I took it out the region that it sticks into it was filled with oil. I am losing a couple quarts between oil changes. Is my problem a leaky valve cover gasket that was letting oil leak into that ignition coil chamber?

Yup seems to be pretty common that #5 cylinder has oil in the chamber, time to upgrade that rear VC to the 04 version little better design than the 03 version and you will find it costs less to upgrade to the 04 version.
