95-99 vs 01 compressor

Hey guys, quick question. im on the hunt for a new a/c compressor because my clutch is shot, so im wondering if the earlier 3.0 used the same compressor as the 00-01. even if they vary slightly and would still work that would be fine with me. just wondering if i can look for one from 95-01

Why are you replacing the compressor if the clutch is bad?

They have the same bolt patterns and the pulleys line up but the problem that I ran into when i tried to put a 95 - 99 on my 01 is that the refrigerant lines on the 95-99 are just a tad smaller than the ones on an 01. So I would imagine using an 01 on a 95-99 will not create a tight seal and leak. I thought about going and pulling the lines off the 95-99 to put on my car as well but I was too lazy and just ran up to the local part store to get a shorter belt to bypass it all together. Don't let it go too long before you fix the problem. Caused me to ruin 2 alternators within a year. You could possibly switch the lines and the compressor from the 01 to the 95-99 but I cannot say for sure that it will work. If you do go that route and it works please post back if they work because that is what I will be doing also.
