Spare Keys at Home Depot

Hello Folks,

You can now get spare keys to our car (and possibly 4th and 6th generations) at select home depots @ $65 a piece.

Look for the Jingles Key Centre, as shown in the attached leaflet.

Good to know, but doesn't the dealer still have to program it to your car?

Nope. I have one key, took it over there, and it was copied and programmed in about 10 minutes. Then the techie came out and tested it on the car to be sure it was working. Everything was over in about 20 minutes for two keys. So give it a shot.

It is indeed a way of cloning or copying the codes...

the original key is inserted into a machine which then scans and copies the codes in memory. The new key is inserted back into the machine for the codes to be pasted / written in.

if you are old enough, you may remember how we used to make copies of floppy disks: insert one floppy disk in the PC, hit copy; then insert the new disk and hit paste, and the contents in memory are then pasted. Same logic !

thanks - Noela

Had a mobile lock guy make me a key for my other 5.5 gen. He was out making a key for a customer's car, asked what if he can clone chipped keys and he said he could. Cost me $50.

I looked up Jingles Key on the web and it is a start-up company. It is only in New Jersey right now. But I cannot find a website for them, although I did not try the parent company name.

I've known about that for a while - these key spots are in every HD in NYC.
I went there to ask a different thing - if I bring my own key they quoted me 3 bucks to cut it and reprogram... sound REALLY good as you can get a key online for 19.99 (of course it doesn't say NISSAN on it), in my case I wan to get AE key done this way

Although they named the price, I'm not sure if they are going to do that, as I've never tried
