Form? or Function?
#9
Because few of us can afford to buy a Porsche Panamara. But before lines are drawn in the sand between form and function, take a look at the useless spoiler sitting on our trunk lids. In other words, there's a little of both in all of us, and every car.
Why are we talking about this again?

What does a panamera have to do with this convo? You don't need a porsche to have form and function. Anyway, yeah that spoiler is completely non functional but I like how it looks so it would go under form.. And I have every suspension part you can buy for 5th gens and I'm turbo with a stillen kit, double din, 8inch touchscreen carputer and a lot more. So my car has a lot of checks in both the form and function columns, just the way I like it. I hate cars that are all function and no form and look like crap and I also hate those over done completely non functional show cars. Form and function in moderation, together create the perfect car.

The same way I feel.
If form/function didn't matter, we wouldn't drive maximas. Its not the fastest car for the money or the best looking, but the fact that it does have a nice blend of form, function, AND value before and after mods make it an appealing to us.
Am I the only one who caught this?

Although I do like my lowered Maxima, it is not the best suspension design for a 'full functional drop'! Our lower control arms become outta wack, ya gotta cut the bump stops down, tie rods give out b/c of the harsh angle.
-I voted FUNCTION b/c I'm a Maxima owner who likes to fabricate and modify to get the car to 'full function' and 'form' to live in the best of both worlds.
-FUNCTION: The only TRUE function that is on my car is the Stillen Exhaust, Stillen rear sway bar, Stillen FSTB, CAI wrapped in header cloth and yellow fogs!
-FORM: the suspension falls more on the side of form than function, b/c with a 'full function suspension drop' outer tie rods would need a flip kit and lower control arm replacement would need to be added to the modification to make the drop a 'full function'!! As for the spoiler...eh...I"m not too fond of our spoilers! I'd rather have a 2" trunk lip in CF...or a metal molded trunk lip! hmmm...that sounds like an idea

I do love the interior...PERFECT for my 6'4" stature...with plenty of room to boot for the passenger behind me!

Rochester, there is nothing good about the Panameras form. That thing is hideous.
On topic, I'm with Max0224 on this one. You need to have both function and form. Power/handling plus aesthetics = a nice overall balanced car.
