Coolant leak - Can not find the actual leak !

Ok guys,

I opened my hood up to check the oil one day, and found this :

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Obviously this is a coolant leak, as i see fresh AF on the hoses...I ran the car, got it hot after driving it, yet i dont see a active leak anywhere. Im confused if its the hoses or the rad itself. Has anyone also experienced this issue ?

Thank You.

Yup, that is where the leak first appears ... right where the rad support brackets are ... check along the crimp edge at the plastic it over time develops small cracks and when under high pressure you get that lovely spray off ... time for a rad replacement.

Koyo is the best replacement

I've had to replace 3 radiators and all of them started to leak beneath the upper radiator hose area.

I replaced mine last month.. On the top of the rad you can see where it was seeping and causing it to spray everywhere..

re

Thanks guys...you guys are right..its at the top left crimp edge...i can tell its all due to pressure.

ill see what comes up the best. I can get it for $80 through 1800 radiator. Replaced one on my accord before, and it was a great OEM rad. This sucks !!

got cams going out and now this too... !!!1

I put coolant into the reservoir about halfway between the Max and Min marks, took the car out for lunch today, and when I got back the coolant reservoir (with additional lighting, via a drop light, this time) appeared to be bone dry. So the coolant is going somewhere, though there didn't seem to be any additional residue in the engine bay.

That's a fair amount of coolant, so perhaps it's leaking elsewhere, and what's in the engine bay is due to salt on the road.

I filled the coolant reservoir up again to about halfway between the Max and Min marks, and cleaning the engine bay so any future spraying will be readily noticeable, but I have a hunch I'm going to do some additional diagnosing.

OP, sorry about the hijack.

I know everyone here recommends Koyo Radiators. But they're a plastic tank/aluminum core construction. Which I've had problems with in the past (leaking at the core/tank junction). Has anyone tried/used the ALL metal (tank/core) CSF brand radiator? Please give opinions or experiences.

Thanx in advance!
