Hey all, I have a 2000 Maxima SE, Love the car and it works wonderful, The only thing i find annoying about my car is the steering wheel, which doesnt have Audio Controls, It does however has the cruise control buttons on the right side, My question is the following:

Is it possible that i can install the audio controls on my steering wheel off another maxima? how hard is it to do and what is needed besides the module? I have done some research however, i came up empty

 

I have never done this but I think it would be a major project. You would have the get a 5.5 radio head unit, the wire harness that runs between the radio and the steering column switches and probably the steering column.

The wire harness you need is incorporated (built into) the main harness under the dash. It's not a seperate thing. The big harness under the dash has other differences, so you can't swap it. You would have to make your own. You could probably open up a harness and pull out the wires you need, this is all a big project.

 

The only way I can control my radio is by the steering wheel controls. None of the radio ***** will do anything. Anybody know whats up?

 

the only way would be to do a 3.5 swap. swap steering wheel and radio.
