Rotor and brake pads suggestions

So I believe my rotors are warped due to pulsating while braking. I thought it was the abs, but one of my friends told me it's defiantly not the abs (abs light is on)

Ive seached through the forums nothing recent this year, but I've been seeing that i should buy rotors from auto zone or pep boys and possibly get bremco blanks.

I'm am not sure about brake pads though

I'm open to suggestion don't need performance grade part I drive my max (5th gen) weekly

( in NYC area )

This is just my advice, but STAY THE H3LL AWAY FROM BREMBO BLANKS!

There, now I feel better. I used a set of Brembo blanks the first time I did my rotors, and they, by far, were the worst set of rotors I have had on my car. They were warped again within 15,000 miles, and only lasted about 25,000 before I couldn't take it any more and changed them for a set of Duralasts from autozone. They last over twice as long as the Brembo blanks, and cost only about half as much. Just my .02...

ABS light on should be telling you something?

Consider the 6 gen brake upgrade, bigger rotors and calipers.

i bought the car off a friend

the front right wheel abs doesnt work due to a melted wire

im gonna be honest im too lazy to do anything about it at the moment

probably gonna fix it when i get new tire, rotor and brakes

get it all done in one sitting

I bought brake pads and rotors from eBay and they work great 75$ for the front pads and rotors and 75$ for the rear pad and rotors also and I went on craigslist and found a guy in the automotive services section who did everything for just 80$ labor good luck though

I totally agree. Brembo Blanks from tirerack were the worst rotors I have ever had. I now rock Centrics and love them.

I recently changed my brakes and rotors on my 2002. I went with Brenbo blanks and Hawke HPS brakes after seeing generally positive reviews on this site. I am not impressed with this setup. I expected improved stopping distance which I think actually got worse. They are smooth and quiet, but simply lack the performance I expected. For the money, there has to be a better option.

Are you a gentle driver? From what I read, the HPS pads need to be hot for good braking. They are for aggressive or weekend track drivers.

Advance Auto Zone ceramic pads with their blanks should be sufficient for what you need. That is what I am running. As a precautionary measure, I would make sure to follow a bed-in procedure for them once they are installed.

I have over 50k miles on them and the pads are not even worn halfway down. No shimmies or shakes in the over 2 years that I have run them.

I used Orielleys ( I know a guy that works there) and just got thier highest end brake pads with lifetime warrenties and front rotors for $102. If the pads wear out, Itake em in a get a new box they work perfect. no complaints. If its your daily driver then slotted and cross drilled will be a waste of money. You got to be careful, there arent as many people out there who know how to turn slotted or drilled rotors.

I am running Duralast from Autozone. The ceramic pads come with shims and are great. I also bought there rotors. I needed to save money and this was the best option. Otherwise it would got with brembo rotors.
